that we arrived in our new home, in Cape Town.
I get asked all the time, "What do you miss about Joburg?", and each time my answer is "Only my friends".
Would we change things and head back up that way? Not in a million years. We are very happy here, the people are great, the weather is sometimes a bit dodgy (but there's nothing you can do about that), there is plenty to do and see.
In fact, if there came a time that the corporation said to us "Move back to Joburg, or find something else to do", guess what? So long, corporation. No second thoughts, it would take me all of about a second to get that out of my mouth. Second thought out of me would be "Now, about that severance package..."
So....one year in Cape Town...who would have guessed? And we love every minute of it...

Have to say that when I left JHB for CT, my only regret was that I never did it 6 years earlier!
Like you say, so much to see and do, drives up the West Coast, Saturday morning breakfast at the Dutch pancake place in Stellenbosch with the kids, or Gidions in Franschoek, or a drive to the berry farm on the way to Franschoek, milk tart from the tuisnywerheid in Somerset Mall, a drive round Constantia Nek to Hout Bay, then back around Chapmans Peak...ja nooit budd, the Cape is a great place...I still love it and miss it.
I think I will make a trip there a year after next..

Agree that we should have moved here sooner, but then hindsight is an exact science, isn't it?
Too many great places to see to mention, and I don't think we'll ever find them all, or run out of new places to visit.
If you get out here, give me a shout and we'll go for a pint or twenty at Skebanga's pub...

1 year - FFS! Well, hopefully it's been a good one. Nice thing about u being down there - I have a place to stay if I come down. Apart from that - eish, miss u guys stacks! Salagatle!
